Aboard Lagoon’s next generation sailing catamaran, the award-winning Lagoon 46, luxury takes the form of space through enlightened design that pushes the boundaries of traditional liveaboard cruising. Naval architects VPLP Design and Patrick le Quément have made strides in creating a perfect harmony between pleasurable onboard living and efficient sailing.
Modular front and aft cockpits, sweeping flybridge, and an unparalleled interior volume for a mid-size catamaran make this yacht feel much larger than her 46-foot length.
Lagoon 46 catamaran designers put to work their year of expertise to achieve world-class seaworthiness, ease of sailing, and performance. The mast has been placed further back, as with VPLP racing designs, resulting in a high aspect ratio and more powerful sails.
A shorter boom and a large self-tacking jib facilitate easier handling, making the Lagoon 46 a great joy to sail.
Those that relish open air, sun and wind will immediately gravitate to the Lagoon 46’s sweeping flybridge. Access the flybridge via built-in steps on either side. Once atop the bridge, visibility, handling and comfort underway are optimized by the centered rigging and helm.
The Lagoon 46 offers plenty of room for passengers to enjoy the view with plush cushioned seating and large double sunbeds, with optional folding or rigid bimini cover for sun protection.
Both fore and aft, there is no shortage of generous living spaces for socializing or finding your own spot under the sun. The foredeck features the Lagoon traditional trampolines along with cushioned sliding bench seating, which also houses 3 large storage lockers.
Aft, the beamy cockpit allows for large gatherings with dining area, lounger and ample bench seating. Owners can choose between traditional davits, or an electric hydraulic dinghy platform.
Inside the saloon, Nauta Design takes maximum advantage of the generous volume by creating a refined and functional living space. Large wrap-around windows provide natural light throughout. Sliding “passthrough” windows to fore and aft provide a breezy, open-air ambience as well as convenient communication and galley service to the cockpit areas.
Generous L-shaped cushioned seating and a corner navigation station share the salon space with the large aft-facing galley – well-equipped with the conveniences of home. Fine finishes and cabinet work grace the interior spaces throughout. A sliding door opens fully to the aft cockpit with both areas on a single level to enhance flow and comfort.
The Lagoon 46 layout options include a 3-cabin/3-bath version with an impressive owner’s suite, or a 4-cabin/4-bath version. All cabins feature en suite baths with separate showers, and forward guest cabin space size is uniquely designed to be identical to the aft cabins.
